Mary’s Storage Room

Mary’s Storage Room

Mary’s storage room in her finished basement had been the collection area for many years. But, Mary had a vision of her own quiet room where she could read, do arts and crafts, wrap presents, and put together photo albums.

Mary and I worked together to declutter the room so that she now has a reading area and a clutter free table to use for her projects.

We sorted through the decades of photos that she had taken and inherited and organized them into 3 photo boxes. She now knows where to find any photo so she can create photo albums.

We also organized all the gifts for her children and numerous grandchildren in clear labeled containers so that she can easily store and find gifts.

Mary loves doing a variety of arts and crafts so we organized her supplies into containers so she can easily pull out a project and work on it.

Finally, Mary had never had an opportunity to paint a room. So we picked some colors and painted a sanctuary just for her!

“Cathy was very kind and supportive throughout this process. The room looks great. However, the most important part of Cathy’s service was her gentle and non-threatening manner. I remember her gentle reminder that “everything has a home.” Life is much easier now when I remember those words. I don’t spend hours searching for that photo, important document or a pair of gloves. You know the saying, “Give a man a fish and he has food for dinner. Teach a man to fish and he has food for life.” Cathy helped me learn to “fish”/organize. People can change if given the right instruction and support!” – Mary
